I've never understood polygamy. The very idea of having more than one wife
at a time seems catastrophic.

Not when you have little kids. It'd be helpful to have a built-in
babysitter whenever you felt like taking the "other" wife out.

After the kids move out, I don't see much use for it...unless they
maintained separate living quarters, and you could hop from pad to pad as
needed.

there have been some interesting scifi stories that involve different
marriage parings like triads, quads - in different combinations - even
groupings

Sci-fi? Is that the new buzzword for late night porn on Showtime and
Cinemax?

They don't show what I would consider "porn." It's sort of bare-breasted
simulated sex, with the occasional hairless muff shot. But, hey, for a
dentist living in hardenedarteryville, it probably works. :}

My question was, 'how late'? You've provided plenty of detail on the
'what', though!

Oh, around 10:45...way past your bedtime.

At least 45 minutes after my bedtime!

I had a good day today. In a Trig class I got to teach the double angle
identities, Heron's formula, the Law of Cosines, and the Law of Sines - in
a 90 minute period.

Towards the end of class one boy raised his hand and asked, "Mr. Herring,
can I ask you a question?" After I said OK, he said, "What kind of coffee
do you drink? I'll bet it's *not* decaf!"

Then I told him, Starbuck's Gold Coast with an extra scoop.

Years ago I worked with a Pakistani. He supported the concept of multiple
wives. His wife could not contain her giggling when I asked why can't a
women have mutiple husbands? She can handle multiple husbands a lot better
than a man can handle multiple wives. One of the better musicals was based
on this premise. Paint Your Wagon.
