I agree that an inboard or outboard is the way to go in salt water. No, the 1997 Proline 21'er came with the 5.7L Mercruiser. The newer ones are outboards, and I didn't know about all the reasons for not having an outdrive when I bought this one. Now that I'm a member of rec.boats, I've learned all this good stuff! -- John H Interesting. I have the 5.7 on my 25' Starcraft.
