Took it off some dead guy in another country. How were you able to get it into the States after your tour? |

Unless things have changed it is very difficult to bring back any contraband according to a US Marine friend of ours who is now serving in Iraq and scheduled to come back from his tour next week. |

Youa re talking 40 years ago. I think things have changed a little. How was I to know? I never served. Jon is staying in one of Saddam's palaces along with some 50 other Marines. The building columns are gold plated and they spent some of their spare time slicing off slivers of the gold with their knives....he did not know how to get it back home, along with some other things including some Cuban cigars. He is just about done with his first tour and is heading back to NC next week. When he came home from Iraq for 2 weeks last December he had to go through a pretty extensive checkout by the Marines prior to leaving Iraq. Everything was checked inside and out. No contraband was allowed to be taken out of the Country. I have no problem with these guys bringing back some of the spoils of their brave work. The Marines see it differently though. |
