Default parts layout

I am looking for help on where parts are located on a 1971 Mercury Mdl 800,
80HP outboard. I have been told the stator wires have been cut and the
rectifier is missing and need to know where to look and mount the missing
parts.

Default Merk 800 Parts Location

There is an aluminum bracket where the removable front cover attaches. The
rectifier mounts to this bracket. It is about 3.5 inches square and is a
selenium plate type rectifier which will be hard to find. You can
substitute a much smaller and more current one from engines such as a black
150 hp Merk, these are more readily available.

If you don't find what you need, I have some to sell.
