Bronze Transon Drain Plugs - How Many?
Harry Krause wrote:
I seem to have 14 of them. At least. Harry, What happened to the boats that were attached to those transom plugs? Why didn't you give the plugs to the new owners when you sold the boat? I keep two aboard the board, the one in use and one extra, how did you end up with 14? Speaking of transom plugs, has anyone every used the self bailer type of transom plugs? It was a great idea where the plug would have a one way value that would allow the water to leave the bilge when the boat was on plane, but would not allow the water to reenter the boat. The plug worked perfect in all the test, until it was used in the real world. It seems that any kind of dirt would clog the sucker open so it would allow the water to come into the bilge as quickly as it would leave the bilge. I tried to find a link for the "self bailer plug", but I could not find it, so it must not be on the market. -- Reggie That's my story and I am sticking to it. |
