No, sorry. If I knew the name of the boat, I could search for it, but
don't remember. The full story was on the web site of a newspaper somewhere that detailed the investigation and subsequent criminal charges brought against the guy. I guess you could search for something like "sailboat insurance fraud, scam" or something like that. He was just too obvious... with all that water why run right into a big ferry boat? Duh! wrote: I was going to ask if somebody knew the total story about trhaat incident. Bad deal to pull a stunt like that, but also to endanger life and limb of others on board? the guy lost all the way asround. hope there were no casualties. Kieth, do you happen to have a link for that story? Keith wrote: He was trying to sink the boat on purpose to collect the insurance. He got busted, but not sure if he went to jail or not. Didn't collect, that's for sure. |

Thsi is about all I could find which is vague and it didn't look like a 40 footer, and the Ferry didn't look new. Keith wrote: No, sorry. I'm sure many of you have seen this short clip before, but.... http://youtube.com/watch?v=hLGyTVXQ0...boat%20wre ck Just another idiot blowboater (and yes, there are plenty of idiot powerboaters out there) who thinks sailboats ALWAYS have the right of way. He sure showed that other boat a lesson or two.........eh? ;-) I just hate it when people jump to conclusions without any idea what was going on. That is truly ignorant. Do you not think there could have been a medical emergency? Perhaps the pilot slipped and fell? Perhaps the steering went out? But, no, you instantly blame it on someone's ignorance who you've never met, no nothing about the events leading up to his demise, etc. |

I have tried to avoid getting into ****ing contests but the crap from Kevin and John just keeps coming and coming. I am pretty fed up with it myself and am glad you finally said something Gene. |

I suggest (1) a real newsreader and (2) a simple killfile. If they aren't worth reading they, well..... just are worth reading! Why subject yourself to the agony? -- Grady-White Gulfstream, out of Oak Island, NC. Homepage http://myworkshop.idleplay.net/ Rec.boats at Lee Yeaton's Bayguide http://www.thebayguide.com/rec.boats Thanks Gene, good suggestion Both are now killfiled (once again as I gave them both a second chance to behave just recently). Before doing so tonight I have noticed JohnH continuing to troll for a fight tonight with me and a couple of other members here. Too bad they both just can't learn to behave and get along with folks. This NG will be far better if that happened. Have a great evening Gene. How is the weather looking for your holiday weekend? Ours is calling for thunderstorms each day. ;-( |

Perhaps I'm the only one that remembers his month long rants, where he ****ed off every single person here, included Fritz? It seems he doesn't remember, that's why I think he's truly bipolar. |

Bassy, man, you still don't get it! I think that perhaps I'm the ONLY one that "get(s) it". Thats JimH's M.O. He goes on those rants, then comes back and acts like nothing ever happened, and expects everyone else that he's **** on to act like nothing happened. I learned many years ago, that if you let somebody **** on you and get away with it, they'll keep on doing it. Your suggesting would be akin to ignoring everything a child did that was harmful, or wrong. That child would grow up not knowing the difference between right and wrong. |

Bassy, The only way to stop improper behavior in UseNet is to ignore it. It is too easy to become just as obnoxious and just as manic as the person one are trying to correct. Instead of having one person cluttering up a NG, you now have two fighting for the one "knock out" punch. Trust me, when you argue in a NG, no one ever wins, and normally you have two losers. -- Reggie That's my story and I am sticking to it! |
