Default pfd foam sheet, name? source?

What's the name of the foam they use in PFDs? The white sheet foam,
typically found in the cheapie orange 'mae west' life preservers. I've got
a Magma grill and I'd like to get some of this foam to help pad the grill
while it's stored in duffel bag. As in, save my ankle from gettin' busted
up on the edges of the damn thing...

I'm figuring a sheet of this, wrapped longitudinally around the grill, will
help pad it enough. But I don't know what this sort of foam is called so
finding where to get it (the next question of course) is sorta hard to do.

So what do they call this stuff? I'd imagine it's some sort of 'closed
cell' foam of some kind. Any suggestions on the right name and where to
find sheets of it?

It is closed cell foam. You can buy sheets of it but it might be hard
to find locally. Search locally for foam suppliers. Or ask for
defunct pfd donations from your boating friends.
