Their fears appear to have been unfounded. Visitation numbers at the nation's most-visited park are up 1.7 percent, with 3.8 million so far this year -- and leaf-peeping season still to come. The rate means the nation's most-visited park is on track to see 9 million guests this year, a spokesman said. About the only thing that proves is that people are going to the local parks rather than take longer trips. What proof do you have that the number of people taking longer trips is down? That's what I thought: NONE. Thus far, NC weather has just about doomed any leaf-peeping that might promise to lure tourists. Is it October? No. Then how do you know "leaf-peeping" is "doomed"? That's what I thought: YOU DON'T. As for skiing, you'll probably see more skiers at the NC slopes this winter, because people will stay near home rather than visit WV, VT, or ME.... that is if we *have* any snow. An undercurrent of pessimism and gloom & doom permeates the postings of most libfags. Listen up, ****heads - just because you've ****ed up your own sorry lives, underachieved and have ugly unshaven wives doesn't give you the right to **** on your successful neighbors' parades. Ok Bert. Have another beer. |
