I have just bought an older (about 1990) model Johnson 90 Horse. It
runs fine but after a run at between 38 to 48 rpm for 5-10 minustes when idling the alarm sounds. There continues to be good water flow from the unit and the oil is full. Any ideas regarding this problem? Thanks |

I"m gonna bet temperature and the cause, worn impeller. At high rpm it
gets enough water but at low rpm the arms of the star are worn and there's not enough water to cool it down once it got good and warmed up after running at high speed.
