I need some help with wiring my nav lights
the switch I'm replacing is a simple pull on push off switch.
the new switch is a 3 psiton switch off/on 1&2 on 1&3
the swich has an R marked on one terminal and an H on another witch one
should I hook the power lead to and witch if any gets the ground?

Probably 1 is power. 3 position allows you to run an anchor light without
the running lights on also.

I realise that but what gets connected to the R terminal and the H terminal

Try them and see. One terminal should have power in either position.
This one connects to the white light at the rear. The other should
only have power in one position and it connects to the red/green light
at the front.

Why don't you just try it and see which position is hot in the 2
positions?
I imagine there is a web site that tells yopu more than you want to
know about it but I just tried it and hooked them up the way that it
worked.
