Most of Streisand's fans know how political she is, and that politics is
part and parcel of her life, and that includes her professional life.

I suspect just about everyone in audience enjoyed the skit poking fun at
Bush.

No, the audience was not happy. Especially why it made the news.

My understanding is that she, as usual, interjected some political
commentary but continued on her soap box for an extended period. Most in the
audience were starting to get restless with a specific heckler getting her
attention.

A brief comment is fine ... but the people paid to attend a music concert,
not to listen to a political speech.
This is nothing new .... she's been like this for many, many years.

Linda Ronstadt was literally run out of Las Vegas a couple of years ago for
essentially the same thing. During her show at the Aladdin Resort & Casino,
she paid considerable homage to Michael Moore. The crowd became restless
and unhappy. Included in the audience was Aladdin President Bill Timmins,
who had her escorted from the property immediately after the show. She was
escorted directly to her tour bus, told to hit the road, and her belongings
that were in her hotel suite were sent to her later. Timmins made it clear
that she was no longer welcome at the Aladdin. Timmins told Las Vegas Sun
gossip columnist Timothy McDarrah: "We live in a city where people come from
all over the world to be entertained. We hired Ms. Ronstadt as an
entertainer, not as a political activist. Whether you are politically on
the left or on the right is not the point. She went up in front of the stage
and just let it out. This was not the correct forum for that."

There's something really ironic about any owner of a major sleaze business
in Las Vegas complaining about anything.

There's something really ironic about someone who's business is politics
referring to any other business as a major sleaze business. When it comes
to sleaze, Krause, your business makes any and all others look like chump
amateurs.

That I have to agree with. I respect her ability, but her style does
nothing for me.

Link to boating (using Chuck's MO): Folks listen to music on their boat,
including Streisand songs. ;-)

Really? Why should one expect her to voice her political views when
purchasing a ticket to hear her sing?

Many people DO care about her political views.

Why would anyone care about *her* political views other than those
unable to form their own?

Thanks for explaining how the left *thinks* things through. LOL!

Do you listen to views of others on subjects, or do you just ignorantly
make up your own mind without a clue?

Hmmm..........so conservatives do not enjoy her music?

When you purchase a ticket for a movie, concert or any event not advertised
as a political event you do not expect to have to listen to the political
views of the artist/performer. Streisand is a political pimp who has no
concern about her fans.

WHaaaaaaaaa........whaaaaaaaaa.......grow up. People have views and
opinions. You have your panties in a wad just because she doesn't
goose-step lemming like to BushCo.

I have no idea whether Streisand has conservative fans. If I were
attending one of her concerts, I would expect to hear some of her
political commentary.

Why?

I thought you paid to hear her sing?

And why would anyone care what *she* thinks?

Obviously you do, or this thread would have died some time ago.

Read this slowly James.........I don't care what she *thinks*. I do care
about her imposing her political views during her concert that folks paid to
hear her *sing*.

Got it?

I'll damned well bet that if a pro-Bush singer said some things about
Bush at a concert, you'd have no trouble with that, even if you were
there, Here is a case where you weren't even there, and are crying like
a baby....

As WJC said, "I feel your pain", JimH

Imagine, somebody injecting politics into a venue that should be
apolitical in nature.
The nerve!! How rude to just impose your personal political views on
an audience assembled for another event. You're right.
