There's a great joke that goes along with this thread:

A college professor of psychology was doing research with children and
wanted to test their ability to associate colors with flavors.

He bought bags of mixed flavor jelly beans and brought them into a
classroom of 1st graders for the test. He handed out red jelly beans and
they all associated them with cherries, blue - blueberries, orange -
oranges, green - limes, etc., until he came to the neutral colored honey
jelly beans.

The students sat quietly eating the honey-flavored beans but just couldn't
identify the taste, so the professor gave them a little hint. "It's
something Mommy calls Daddy.", he said, flatly.

A little girl in the group suddenly spit out her bean onto the floor,
scrunched up her face and said in a loud voice, "GROSS! It's ASSHOLE!"

Speaking of which...

I have this jelly bean fetish where I separate the beans (or M&Ms for
that matter) by twos and by color.

Then I eat each color in succession and by two's.

Anybody else do that? :)

That is not a fetish, it is obsessive compulsive.

They were a favorite of Ronald Reagan. Blueberry flavor was created for his
inauguration in 1981 when over three tons of Jelly Belly jelly beans were
consumed during the festivities.

A portrait of President Ronald Reagan made from 10,000 Jelly Belly jelly
beans hangs in the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley,
California.

During his presidency, Jelly Belly jelly beans were served in the Oval
Office and on Air Force One. A holder was designed for the plane so the jar
of Jelly Belly jelly beans would not spill during turbulence.

Root beer jelly beans do not make up for the fact that he's a speed
freak.

He is friends with a buddy of mine who also used to race offshores, at least
until two crashes in the span of a month and figured law of averages was
bad. So we get samples at times. Wierd flavors. Tobasco, Dr. Pepper, are
2 that I can think of right now. When the owner goes on an airplane he
hands out pounds of the beans as a marketing strategy.

I recently learned that he arranged with NASA to secretly include a package
of them on one or more of the Shuttle flights as a surprise treat for the
crew.
