I watched a program on the Discovery Channel (I believe that was the
channel) this afternoon on the construction of the QM2. I would have
never thought it would travel to SF as it normally cruises between NYC and
Southampton, UK.

Maybe there's a seasonal schedule? Traveling the North Atlantic in the
winter is not overly pleasant.

Makes sense.

The idiot sailboaters were ringing the ship and one or two are going to get
visits from the CG. Missed getting run over by inches. Wife said was on
the local TV news. http://cbs5.com/topstories/local_story_035232421.html

Around the world tour.

I heard a live interview with the skipper of the QM2 yesterday on KGO, and
he was asked that same question. The answer was as posted below. During the
winter, they cruise the world (in 80 days), then in the summer, they resume
their trans-atlantic crossings.
