Default Sunbrella for boat tops?

My boat top (the vinyl type canvas) is shot - lots of pinholes, zipper tearing
away, and shrunk up so I can't snap it all back.

I had a recommendation from a friend to call one guy -- and his price is very
reasonable but he uses sunbrella -- anyone have any thoughts on using sunbrella
as a boat top?

Thanks
-josh

Wouldn't have it any other way.

Great -- thanks -- I t hink the price is right ($800 for 1/2 top; with teh slope
back, all new snaps (both boat & top) new hardware where needed -- and;
"lifetime warranty as long as I own the boat". I assume this doesn't include
sun deterioration -- still 800 -- that seems good.

I may have him make me a full cover so I can have it fully covered while
underway.

Outstanding -- I've never had a sunbrella top before -- but glad to hear it's
good... The rain dribbling down is getting old.

Thanks
-josh

Sunbrella is the de-facto standard for boat canvas. Nothing strange there.

TopGun is also very good and seems to be preferred around here.

All Sunbrella(tm) is, is a "good" canvas impregnated with a "good" water
repellant, and a "good" UV repellant.

So?? it works...

In the south, about 20 years ago. The plastic covered stuff would
peal off in the sun and would crack in the cold. For sunbrella, I
spray mine with waterproofing about once a year and I can usually get 10
yrs + our of a top in the SFlorida sun.

name is) --- never occured to me to use sunbrella as a top -- I"m going for it.

Thanks to all!
