Since JohnH is stuck in a 50's mindset regarding the environment, that '55
Ford truck would be perfect for him.
It even has a Mustang engine to help him feel sporty around the high school
crowd.

That truck is a blast to run around in. It really ****ed me off when I
caught the door on a tree while backing it up a few weeks ago. Oh well ...
something else to fix.

Almost the same damage happened to my mini-van a few years ago. I was up at
our Costco in an open area (industrial park) and paked pointing away from
the wind. When I opened my door, a strong gust took it and slammed it open
damaging both door and driver side fender. I had to travel 250 miles to a
funeral so I forced the door open numerous times and made the damage worse.
I had to pay the first *%$^ $500.00 to have it fixed.

That is just his way to rub it in when you run into some bad luck.

What a nice guy he is.

Fortunately, they made very robust door hinges in 1955. They aren't
damaged, just misadjusted due to them sliding a little under the bolt heads.
It was too darn cold to play with it the day it happened, so I just put the
truck away until spring.

Almost changed over to a govt run insurance program like they have in a
couple of provinces out west.
Our polticians sold us out to the insurance industry...for the right price I
assume.
