Since JohnH is stuck in a 50's mindset regarding the environment, that '55
Ford truck would be perfect for him.
It even has a Mustang engine to help him feel sporty around the high school
crowd.

Don, when you can't bother to watch more than 7 minutes of a documentary,
how can you claim to know *anything* of my mindset.

Go he http://www.c-span.org/ , and click on the link to:

I found it very interesting.

That truck is a blast to run around in. It really ****ed me off when I
caught the door on a tree while backing it up a few weeks ago. Oh well
... something else to fix.

Almost the same damage happened to my mini-van a few years ago. I was up at
our Costco in an open area (industrial park) and paked pointing away from
the wind. When I opened my door, a strong gust took it and slammed it open
damaging both door and driver side fender. I had to travel 250 miles to a
funeral so I forced the door open numerous times and made the damage worse.
I had to pay the first *%$^ $500.00 to have it fixed.

Fortunately, they made very robust door hinges in 1955. They aren't
damaged, just misadjusted due to them sliding a little under the bolt heads.
It was too darn cold to play with it the day it happened, so I just put the
truck away until spring.

I had a similar experience when I sold my last boat. Listed it on Craigs
list, and had at least 20 resonses in an hour. I went in order, and the
first guy who agreed to my asking price showed up with a wad of cash (the
boat was only $7500), that was magically a couple of hundred short when I
counted it. I guess he didn't think I'd count it?

The boat was already a deal at the asking price, and he asked if that was
good enough! I said, "Nope, and you've got a 1/2 hour to come back with the
balance." An hour later, I called the next guy on the list, told him the
deal fell thru, and he came by and bought it. Less than 24hrs from listing
to sale.

Gotta love Craigs list

This morning, just for giggles, I listed the Scout on Craigslist with a
link to my website with current pictures. I carefully and fully explained
that I was selling it "as is" and that it had not been run for over two
years. (gave a short history of the boat). I priced it accordingly. I
figured if there were no takers, I'd get the boat detailed, buy new
batteries, get the engine serviced, etc. .... whatever it needed and then
sell it, obviously at a higher price.

Within 15 minutes my email inbox was filling with responses to the
listing. Most obviously had not bothered to read the description because
they were asking a million questions that I had already answered. One guy
however had obviously read it, is familiar with the Scout brand,
recognized it was a good deal and bought it sight unseen. Took less than
an hour following the listing. People must go to work and read Craigslist
all morning at the office. Anyway, he's coming by later this afternoon to
pick it up. Meanwhile, I had to delete the listing on Craigslist because
my inbox was dinging about once or twice a minute. Lotsa boat buyers out
there right now.

I can't believe some of the other responses. Many wanted to see the boat
in the water, go for a ride, (even though I had explained that it wasn't
even registered) and a couple asked if the price was "negotiable". I
had priced it at approximately one half of its current market value.
Everyone wants a "deal".

Ok. Now the fleet is down to two boats. Now to get rid of some cars so I
have room for some more stuff. I drive myself crazy.

Well, I gotta admit it - I trust you and Eisboch to tell it straight.

So I'm listing the Halman on Craigslist - Northshore and Boston.

We'll see what happens.

You never know. It might sneak off to destinations unknown if our busy
lives ever slow down.
But, in the meantime, it's a private summer retreat on the Cape, away from
the crowds and malls with real beds, real heads, a real galley and lots of
room. I still enjoy it.

As nice as the GB is, it's still not as comfortable as the Navigator. We'll
see what happens this summer.
