I've got a 20' Gulf Coast boat and the paint on (parts of) the deck is
peeling and flaking. I thought it was "gel coat", but my mechanic says it's an epoxy paint. I'd like to redo it myself, if I can. The fiberglass underneath is stable and intact; no problems. But the paint on the top is flaking off. What procedures should I follow to fix it? Should I just scrape off the flaking stuff and sand it smooth, then paint? Which paint should I use? And am I heading in the general right direction? Any help is appreciated... |
