Trailer Brakes

I need to replace the entire brake system on my trailer. It's a tandem axle
that currently has 10" drums. GVW for the boat, motor and trailer will be
around 5500-6500 lbs. What are your thoughts on disc vs. drum and do you
have any brand preferences? Last question, where to buy?

Thanks,
Steve P.

This is as good as any place, and better than most. They know everything
about how best to do your project. Give them a call.

Agreed.

The conversion from drum to disc isn't hard, but it does take time. As
to effectiveness, I can only relate my own personal experiences with
both and for my money, drum brakes are better than disc. I've had
nothing but problems with my disc brakes, but I had a twenty year old
trailer with drum brakes and never had a problem with them. As you
have drum brakes now, stick with 'em and just replace what you have.

That's my opinion and I'm sticking to it.

Disc
Champion Trailer is the best source of trailer parts, hands down.
