Would you agree that the 3 entities below have created public
impressions that are hard to change?

1) Wal Mart
2) Used car dealers
3) Law firms

Wal Mart has more customers than any business in the world.

Used car dealers don't make any money unless they attract customers
either.

Lawyers are the primary contributors to Democrats.

You're not much of a dancer.

No, I demonstrated that you have contempt for success and supplication
for the John Edwardses of the world.

You demonstrated that once again, you've danced around someone's
question because to answer it honestly, you'd step in quicksand.

Your question was an AVOIDANCE NON-ANSWER TO TO QUESTIONS I POSED.

No it was not. The point was that every business creates its image, or as
Harry pointed out, earns it, for better or worse. The 3 in the list are
perfect examples. Wal Mart's got a miserable reputation with as many
people
as those who love the place. Used car dealers are seen as snakes, much the
same as lawyers. You are fully aware of all this.

The major oil companies are no different. They offer us bull****
explanations for the price swings. If you kids gave you similar answers,
there would be consequences, assuming you were a competent parent.

Horse pucky. Wal Mart has been a target of the liberals, like Harry and
the
major media, because it won't unionize.

I don't give a damn about their union situation. I'm talking about the
customer experience, and the fact they they lie about their prices, and that
"made in America" charade.

GALLUP NEWS SERVICE

PRINCETON, NJ -- The latest Gallup panel survey finds the public bracing
for continued rising gas prices this summer. A majority of poll
respondents expect gas prices to reach the $4.00 per gallon level in
their local area this summer, though only a small minority expects it to
reach the $5.00 mark. Roughly two in three Americans say they have
already been affected financially in some meaningful way by the high gas
prices. The public most often mentions oil company greed as the reason
for the high gas prices, though it also mentions other more practical
reasons such as problems with refineries.

They'll mention whatever the talking heads tell them to mention as
reasons. Remember "increased demand in China"? That's the reason I heard
for the latest run-up. Same thing last year. But, when the price dropped
last year, nobody said "decreased demand in China". I don't listen any
more. The only info I'd believe would come from Rex Tillerson, who was
being waterboarded in return for real details about the pricing scheme.
All other explanations thus far are an insult to our intelligence.

The "problems with refineries" reason is a tad too predictable. There's no
reason to doubt "refinery" and big oil greed, though.

It's pretty hard to ignore big oil's announcement of record profits every
quarter. Maybe it's time to sell the boat and buy Exxon Mobil stock.
Jim

Maybe it is time to elect a president who gives a damn about those with
middle or lower class incomes. We've had six and a half years of
corporate payoff in the White House. It's time to make sure the public's
interest is represented in such key, high-cost to the public industries
as oil and health care.

Yes, the president sets gas prices.

Explanation - long term maximization of profit. Salvation Army does
charity
work.

You go to the supermarket and find that a gallon of milk is suddenly $4.00.
Last week, it was $2.00. You ask for an explanation and are told "It's due
to increased demand at our store across town".

How would you feel about that answer?

I'd feel like we should elect a president who cares about the poor and the
middle class and would do something to hold down milk prices. Maybe he
could raise cows - unionized, of course.

That is the only complaint that you have heard about walmart? Now, I
gotta issue a horse pucky alert!

Check out some of these non-union issues:

Trust me, in the 22 states with right-to-work laws, walmart sucks just
as bad as they do elsewhere.

Poor simple-minded Herring. I suppose his is an example of what happens

Bull**** answer, as usual. Sesame Street over yet?

You had to read the answer carefully. If the demand for the product has
increased, and the supply has remained constant, then I would expect the
price to increase.

There, is that more enlightening?

In my experience, they lie about prices less than Safeway, and I've no
idea
what the 'made in America' charade is about. I think you've concocted
both.

You think I've concocted both because you don't read or get out much.

Much, if not most, of Wal Mart's stuff comes from China. Harry, the other
liberals, including yourself, seem to be in the forefront of finding
anything to help point fingers at Wal Mart.

My opinions are based 100% on my own experience with the store. I don't join
clubs. Harry has his own reasons.

It's all liberal smoke because they won't unionize.

Nope. Don't give a damn about their labor practices.

Oh my gosh! A purely non biased organization whose sole function is to
keep an eye on Wal Mart? Wow, I wonder who funds it.

The exact same information has also been in the newspaper your wife reads,
and then places under your easy chair to catch the mess.

Probably for the same reason you do. When the soap opera pauses for a
commercial, think about it.

I suppose if I felt backed into a corner I may do the same.

Your refusal to take any conversation seriously is insulting, and therefore,
a personal attack on anyone else in a discussion.
