Anyone remember these or actually have one?

Nothing so fancy, with a full cowling and all.

I've got this exact model sitting in my Dad's garage. It pushed
Commando's Penn-Yan around from 1942 until about 3 or 4 years ago. It
still runs, but it finally became too balky to be worth the trouble of
clamping it to the dinghy's transom, so we replaced it with an electric
motor.

That's not unlike the handwrap and pull my dad gave me when I was about
seven years old. Of course, mine came in a box, disassembled, and I had
to put it together to get it to run. I had a lot of help, though!

The Johnson 1.5hp shown in the above link is a 1968 model which was first
introduced that year. In later years it evolved into a 2hp size with a
recoil starter. It is not a ducktwin, which was an olive-brown painted twin
cylinder 3hp.

That particular motor in the link is 1969. It was first introduced in 1968.

Anybody here know what it sold for? Or even what the asking price was?
If price or more info is on the site, I missed it.
Just curious.

Thanks for the info. As soon as I wrote that I had my doubts about it's
age. Since it's older than I am, obviously my info about it is all
second-hand.
