Tsk - tsk - tsk.. Notice that the party affiliation is missing from behind their names. Wanna bet which party they belong to? Subtle. Nuanced. Ethically uncompromising. |

Nuanced. Ethically uncompromising. Do political trolls live under bridges in CT? You think this is a partisan issue, but it isn't. While the three largest whores in Washington DC are D's, six of the ten largest whores are from your side of the aisle. Members of congress who got the most campaign money from donors at companies with defense earmarks in the 2007 budget: 1. John Murtha, House, D-PA $1,699,775 2. Peter Visclosky, House D- IN $673,424 3. James Moran, House D-VA $579,123 4, David Hobson, House R-OH $527,590 5. Duncan Hunter, House R-CA $520,325 6. Jerry Lewis, House R-CA $516,350 7. C.W. Young, House R-FL $460,900 8. Heather Wilson, House R-NM $458,635 9. Arlen Specter, Senate R-PA $441,001 10. Norm Dicks, House D-WA $434,800 So as far as it being a partisan problem, it certainly is not. Among the top ten congressional whores the R's outnumber the D's by a 6 to 4 margin, but some of the D's have turned a lot more tricks than the R's so its pretty close to a wash- IMO. As far as it being a "Seattle" or WA state problem, once again that is a mischaracterization. Among all members of congress, Baghdad Jim leads our delegation with the presitgious honor of being in 10th place on the streetwalker's list. Other WA lawmakers that appear on the total congressional list, by place, a 37th overall: Patty Murray, Senate D $246k 49th: Maria Cantwell, Senate D $213k 149th: Rick Larsen, House D $102k 180th: Adam Smith, House D $88k 205th: Jay Inslee, House D $74k 266th: Doc Hastings, House R $51k 299th: Dave Reichert, House R $42k 320th: Cathy McMorris Rodgers, House R $37,050 373rd: Brian Baird, House D $24k 449th: Jim McDermott, House D $13k By the way, Jim McDermott, 449th from the front of the trough, represents some of the more liberal suburban areas around Puget Sound. So- not specifically a Democratic or "liberal" problem (plenty of R's with hands in the same cookie jar) and hardly a "Seattle" problem- CA has two whores on the top ten list, PA has two, and the states of VA, OH, FL, and NM all outwhore the sleaziest guy we can manage to muster from WA. :-) |

It would need to compete with the $10,00 toilet seats, $6,000 coffee pots, and $965 framing hammers earmarked by both D and R lawmakers in recent decades. One batch of *******s steals for one special interest group, and the other batch of *******s steals for another. Except when it comes to defense- everybody tries to steal as much as they can for their local defen$e contributor...err I mean "contractor". Speaking of stealing; Monday is the very last day to pay your 2006 income taxes, even with an extension. My CPA wife has just crunched, munched, and double punched all the numbers detailing what we have to pay in addition to this year's previously deducted amounts....Holy Shiite!..... |

Just curious, ya know.- Hide quoted text - - Show quoted text - Send it in right away, along with a letter of explanation and apology. Ask in advance to have the penalty waived. Point out how for XX years you have always had your quarterly in on time and that the ovesight will never happen again. Especially if the penalty is a relatively small amount, they will often write it off vs. bother to hassle you. They probably get those letters and say "Oh, oh. Here's one of those guys who wants to put up a fight over a few hundred bucks. Anybody want to screw around pursuing this? No? Well then let's forgive the penalty." |
