Since yesterday the Nov.9th graduation class from the USMC Parris Island, SC
Eastern Recruiting Region has been living with the rain without shelter and
with limited sleep and food. The Crucible........a 3 day final extreme
test.

It rained there yesterday, all day today and is forecast to do the same
tomorrow.

Sounds like finals week at college...sleep deprivation, bad food,
physical and mental strain, and where I got my undergraduate degree,
incredible cold weather at the end of the fall semester.

There's no rational reason for any more Americans to be giving up their
lives or limbs in the abyss of Iraq or Afghanistan.

Surrender? My son joined knowing he will be in the fight, as did all now
serving.

Surrender to terrorists and other Islamic extremists is not in their
dictionary Harry............and thank God for that!

When will the Dems finally understand that?- Hide quoted text -

Never, because it's utterly stupid and nonsense. Republican talking
point. When anybody says anything about getting out of the quagmire
that is Iraq, it's automatically written off as surrender. So, in
order not to surrender, I'd guess that in your eyes, we need to stay
there and fight people that don't want our brand of democracy forever?

So exiting a war before it is won is not surrendering?- Hide quoted text -

Exactly, in some circumstances. Are you then, saying that we need to
stay there forever? You do know that those in Iraq will resist us
forever, don't you? They simply don't WANT what we are forcing upon
them. Why is that so hard to understand?

I got back yesterday afternoon. The neighbor said we got a little over 4.5"
during the past week. I know my grass looked good. The folks from Holland
staying here must have felt right at home!
