Default Slight less deadly catch...

http://www.uscg.mil/D13/SAFECRAB/

Pacific NW carb fishermen now experience a higher risk or on-the-job
death or injury than any other occupation, including Bering Sea
crabbers.

One of the problems is that boats under 79-feet don't require a
"stability letter" to indicate how high the pots can be stacked on
deck. Most of the crabbers are about 50 feet LOA, and the skippers
just pile post up about as high as they think they can get away with.
High COG often results.

The new USCG crackdowns should help reduce the loss of life.

IMO...my job is more deadly. The fact that I have to drive the
Canadian 400 Series of highways, the junk we have to work with, that
could collapse of metal fatigue at any time and crush us, the ice and
snow and slip hazards we have to endure (at night for me) in all kinds
of weather. Plus all the management petty bull****, to make us loose
our minds........

No, she didn't get me or my kid who was leading her when she went
off My fault though. I kinda' suspected it was coming and should
have taken control from her, but she has to learn too... This time, no
one got hurt, not even the horse

It was a weird day at the barn today, maye the weather, maybe the
holiday "family" traffic and screwey schedual. Big guy busted out his
crossties early for the ferier, later another broke another cross tie
while getting prepared for a show, another took down a fence, the one
pulled away from me, another just gave the farmer a **** of a time
going out.. Just a weird day, And the stallion was just a charmer,
just a weird day at the barn

I would imagine that catcing carbs around be a serious occupation no
matter what size boat you are on.

I hooked a dual throttle body once, got him by the fin, what a bitch
to drag in.. Of course I lost him, right next to the boat
