My kid came in from DC last night, and her bf found me a book called
"How to Duild a Tin Canoe" by Rob White. I guess it's a life story,
not a set of plans though

Way back in the early eighties, I bought plans for a 16 foot 'Friendship
Sloop'. I got as far as fabricaring the keel before going out and buying a
new 17' Siren.
I love wood boats but I'm not prepared to do the upkeep.

I'm sure this has been posted before, but this fellow built himself a
beautiful boat, and his web pages detail the processes nicely:

If steel or alumium I can arrange for metal fab and welding.

Hmmm.... that gives me an idea.

I need to find an excellent naval architect.

How excellent? And for what? I know a couple of "name brand" n.a.'s.
