I used to get to do that my first 2 years in the Coast Guard but we
had the old 44 ft motor lifeboats. It was a lot of fun. It ain't bad in the summer but that stuff is hard to stand in January on the Washington coast in the northwest. But those 47 footers like those pics have that enclosed heated cabin to use, we never had that on the 44's. It does look like one heck of a ride where they were sitting up topside.
