Default Computer problem resolved!

After reading everything here, and looking at a few web sites, I came
across a blog in which an individual suggested running chkdsk with the /r
parameter. It took about two hours for chkdsk to do its thing, but when it
finished I tried the convert command again. This time it worked! I now have
an NTFS drive. Yippee.

I wonder if Starbucks will give me a free latte for doing that?

I wonder what he will have a problem with next. I am sure it is coming
soon.

Stay tuned.

Have you noticed that none of his problems have overwhelmed him so much
that whined in rec.boats "I just couldn't take it anymore".

He has a problem and he takes care of it. No big deal.

You could learn a lot from him.

Electric can opener. Doorbell. Shoelaces. Hearing aid batteries. False
teeth. Depends. Toilet paper roller. Paint brush. Flashlight. The
possibilities are endless.

PS. Thanks all for the ideas and suggestions, especially you, Harry. That
'convert' command was what worked after all.

Hey, John is our resident VISTA expert. Leave him alone.

Well, he shouldn't have any trouble with the CONVERT commmand. It's
almost idiot proof, which probably explains why SALTY can't handle it...

John, there are better places to get computer advice than a boating
NG, as you've just found out. There are a couple of good people here,
but a lot of noise as well.

Glad you got it worked out.

Thanks!

Actually, I don't mind being called names by Harry or his followers. It's
almost an honor.
