Waaaaaay OT (snow ski equipment problem)
Anyone here familiar with snow ski equipment?
As posted to rec.skiing.alpine.moderated: ************************** My wife and I are new to snow skiing and have purchased used ski boots. She bought a pair of used Rossignol R900's. They have what appears to be 2 adjustments and I would like to learn what these adjustments do. 1. A black "knob" on the back set to "1" with a movable tab that reads "lock". 2. A metal screw head on the ankle that uses an allen hex wrench to move the screw head in 1 of 3 positions. She complains she is leaning too far forward when wearing the boots. I feel like I can stand up straight when I wear mine. I tried to turn the black knob once but its very stubborn and Im afraid to take a pair of pliers to it unless I know what's going on. I've been to the Rossignol website and see pictures of newer boots with a similar black knob but info on what the hell it does is offered. Any help in this matter is appreciated. Don |

Waaaaaay OT (snow ski equipment problem)
Hi Don,
Not sure about the Rossis, but on my Nordicas, the knob on the back adjusts how the boot fits around your heel. You adjust it so you get very little (if any) heel lift as you flex forward. The adjustment on the side will likely adjust the angle of the ankle cuff to the boot. It sounds like it's adjusted with too much of an angle right now (for her anyway). It could be different on your boots. I hope this helps. --Mike "D-unit" cof42_AT_embarqmail.com wrote in message ... Anyone here familiar with snow ski equipment?
