Eisboch If Bush were held to the same standards you're assuming for Democrats, he'd have been tarred, feathered and burned at the stake in his first term. I think the Clinton's have made clear that they're willing to sacrafice the good of the party in order to win. You may be right about McCain's chances since a lot of Democrats like me will sit out the election if she's the nominee. AFAIC, she's McCain lite. Why not let the Republicans drive us another four years into the hole so we can have a real Democrat. jps I like Obama. For the most part he has run a clean campaign and has the "image" that projects a thoughtful potential POTUS to the world. We need that right now, even if his views on policy aren't exactly what I would subscribe to. Unfortunately, the latest "tip" given to the media may destroy his chances. I wonder who decided this was a good time to bring up the pastor? I doubt it was McCain. He's on vacation until the Dems stop feeding upon themselves. Eisboch You seem to forget that the dirtiest of dirty tricks are played by the Republicans. If you need a recent example, just look into what the Republicans did to John McCain in South Carolina in the 2000 nomination contests. |

Eisboch Hope I'm wrong, but since the campaigning started, I have been saying that if either Hilary or Obama got the nomination, the democrats would lose. There are just way too many joe-six-packs out there that are also closet bigots. Even though some of them may pay lip service to voting for a woman or the best candidate, when they actually get in the booth, they just will not vote for any woman or darkie....... Now "thats" a great example of projection... jps |

Hillary has a chance, since she's as tough as McCain. Obama's downfall was Oprah's endorsement. Personally, I think he's solid, and race isn't his primary motivator. But when he let Oprah get aboard, it racialized Obama. Still can't predict anything, the way things change. All the candidates are dip****s anyway. I want a candidate who puts America first. This country will continue to decline until we go back to being mostly self-sufficient in manufacturing our own goods. We're off-shoring national defense, for Christ's sake. I want Dick Nixon! In the meantime, I'm going down to Florida soon to look at boats. Still thinking new Carolina Skiff, or recent/new Mac 26. But I won't know until I get hands on. What kind of boat do you like? --Vic |

The first I heard of this was back about 2004 about the time of the port authority being out sourced. But then this administration out sourced the running of our top secret sub communication network to India!!! My God our communication network for our nuclear subs sent to INDIA? Now the news has just broke that the military contractors Bush is relying on in Iraq have all incorporated off shore so they don't have to pay income tax! No Bid contracts to American companies and this administration lets them walk through a tax loop hole.... Modern "outsourcing" dates back to the Reagan administration as a means for companies to get around restrictive union contracts. It became more popular during the Clinton administration with the implement of NAFTA which only re-enforced outsourcing interest. Bush hasn't done anything to fix it, but he didn't cause it. Eisboch It was a seminal moment in the campaign of President Idiot. I'm not concerned about the "fighting" between Obama and Clinton. It will end soon enough, it tends to keep McCain off the front page, and in the end, either Clinton or Obama will be President and McCain can hawk Viagra. |
