Why we left Florida
wrote in message ... On Apr 8, 11:48 am, Jim Rojas wrote: Your wife should be commended. These lizards help keep many pests in check. Just look at it this way. A common bat eats it's own weight each day in insects. If we had no bats, Florida would be uninhabitable, and so would the rest of the world. I've put bat houses up in my back woods. It's amazing to watch them at dusk. There are more ants pound for pound, than people. There are more termites pound for pound than people. There are more rats than people. There are more live fish in the sea than all the humans that ever lived combined. We are just temporary land barrons on this planet. We need to protect these natural predators at all costs. These creatures did fine for the past 250+ million years without our interference. They will be here long after we are extinct as a species. Jim Rojas And then there are people that think they know more than millions of years of evolution taught the planet...... ---------------------- Well, you guys can love 'em. I'll swat 'em. Eisboch |

I've trekked canoed camped etc. all over the Florida swamps. All I can say is that's a hell of a photoshop job! |

Tough guys, all. :) Go ahead and laugh. Had a rock crab clamp on to my thumb, cutting it. Almost fainted. Had to sit down with my head below my knees. I think they have some kind of venom. That's what I think. --Vic The last time I saw a girl have a crab grab onto the meaty web in between her thumb and forefinger, I just whipped out my trusty Russell belt knife and wedged the claw open. She was grateful. |

Why we left Florida
I don't think so either. It was probably taken in the Florida
everglades. Though where Orlando airport is located this may be possible. Jim Rojas HK wrote: wrote: On Tue, 8 Apr 2008 08:47:51 -0400, "Eisboch" wrote: "Tim" wrote in message ... Why we left Florida
"Short Wave Sportfishing" wrote in message ... snip.. One of the funnnier things I've ever seen was at Bein Hoa AFB in Vietnam. One of the fighter groups there had a Burmese Python in captivity - guys used to visit and pull the snake out of it's cage, drap it around their shoulders and take a picture. Proceeds went to the fighter squadron bar fund. One of our guys paid the money and did the snake/shoulders thing until it bit him and started wrapping itself around. I'll give the kid credit - he didn't panic and we got the snake off of him in short order, but they stopped the picture deal immediately. The snake ended up at the Museum of Natural Sciences in Raliegh, NC. Are you sure your guy didn't bite the snake first? |
