Default Race Wrap-up

I don't know if I posted this here. If I did, I'm sorry for posting it
twice. If I didn't, I'm sorry for forgetting to do it sooner. In other
words, I'm just a sorry piece of...never mind.

************************************************** ******
Hi guys!!! What a great race!!! We had lots of fun, as we always do, and
I was so glad to see so many of you that I don’t get to see throughout the
year! Don’t know if you knew, but our team raised $7,780 this year, which
is well over the goal of $7,000. I want to thank all of you for making
this possible! I do want to send special thanks to a few. First, my dad,
who challenged everyone on his boat forum to donate by offering to match
their donations. Between them, they raised around $3,000! Thank you, dad!
I also want to thank Sean Heath, who, while recovering from a traumatic
brain injury, walked the 1K with his walker, and he crossed the finish
line!!! He also raised over $1,300 for the team! You humble me, Sean, and
I am most appreciative of all you did. Our team was 6th largest in the
city, with 150 members, and we were 6th in the city in fund-raising.
Again, if you go to the race website, you’ll see us listed in the top 10.

http://komenrichmond.org/

I am so fortunate to be surrounded by you most wonderful people….to quote
myself, "like a stone, encircled by most precious gems"..I am so blessed.

Soooo, look for my e-mails again in January. Don’t forget your mammogram,
ladies, and while we’re at it, your colonoscopies, ladies and gentlemen. No
reason to lose your life over such a preventable things. Take care of
yourselves!

All my love, and heartfelt thanks, once again!

Renee
************************************************** *************************************

So, until next year when, God willing and the creek don't rise, I'll be
begging for donations again.

Y'all got me good this time. Save your money and get me worse next time.

Have a spectacular day!

While we support the cure for breast cancer and we donate to the cause
annually I do not believe this is the place to ask for donations.

To put it in perspective: My wife has a severe neurological
condition (the cause has yet to be found) condition in her leg and I
could begin to ask for donations to help find the cause. There are
several members here with serious medical conditions, or have family
members with the same. I have yet to see requests here for donations
to their cause. We all have non profit organizations we
support......should we begin to ask for donations to those causes
here, a boating NG? A slippery slope.

I wish John's daughter well and have contributed to her Race for the
Cure group in the past. I am not insensitive to her condition or the
pain she (and her family) are suffering.

That said, the constant posts regarding a specific cause and the
constant begging for contributions to it are over the edge considering
that this is a boating NG, not a fund raising one.

While posting my opinion on this subject I hope I did not offend
anyone with this post or appear to be insensitive, especially
considering the fact that my wife and I generously donate to our
Church and organizations we support (while refraining from requesting
donations to those organizations here).

If you ignore him, he will be bored and move on.

of the off-topic entertainment here.

"y"ou do "no" that Loogie enjoys the rises Harry gives him. We cannot deny
Loogie his pleasures but we can filter him if he won't cooperate. Shame to
have to do it, but it's not worth seeing harry crap 100 times for every
proper post that Loogie makes.
