Hi all,

Question: anyone know if the oil for outboard motor mix (2 stroke) has a
shelf life and if so, what. the oil is in factory sealed cans and plastic
containers and is eight to ten years old?

Thanks,

Tom

I have read 2-5 years or so, because of the additives...

Trash it, oil shelf live is at best 2-5 years. I would not use it after
2 years, but then I throw away herbs and spices after 1 year.

The cost of the damage done by bad oil is not worth the savings from the
oil.

I heard the same thing, hence, I would not use oil older than 2 years.

They say you should not use Tires that are older than 6 years, no matter
how much tread you have on them.

Important

On the Iowa lake where I do my boating, everyone I know has fifty year
old trailer tires. Five miles a year is typical. Same people and boats
for fifty years.

Trash it,

Burn it slowly in your car. Add a quart or two to every fillup to dispose
of it slowly.
