Default PDDLEFEST IS LESS YHAN A WEEK AWAY

Dear Paddlefest friends,

Check out this quick YouTube video from our friends at Holland
Advertising. It's a gas!

Here's the e-mail that went out today to our 900+ registered paddlers.
It will give you a good feel for what's happening at this year's
Paddlefest.

Thanks for all your support. See you at Paddlefest!

Best,

Brewster Rhoads

Dear Paddlefest registrant,

Thanks so much for registering for the *7th Annual Ohio River Way
Paddlefest, *our biggest and best ever! We look forward to seeing you
this Friday at our *Ohio River Music & Outdoor Festival* at *Coney
Island** *and on Saturday for our *Paddle the **Ohio** events *(starting
at Coney) and our *Finish Line Festival *(at the Serpentine Wall).

Most of the information you need to complete your registration and enjoy
Paddlefest is contained in the *attached Paddler Information Sheet*.
Additional details are on our website at *www.OhioRiverWay.org
http://www.OhioRiverWay.org*. If you need to speak to someone
directly, please call our *Paddlefest Hotline* at* 513-588-6936*. You
can also e-mail us at
.

*The weather forecast is promising. The Ohio is at *pool stage* (26.5
feet). The current is *less than one mile per hour*. The *water
visibility* allows you so see 2-3 feet down. And the *water quality* is
well within the range considered "more favorable for swimming and
recreational human contact" (according to our partners at ORSANCO -
http://www.orsanco.org/rivinfo/swim/default.asp).

*Tips for enjoying Paddlefest:**
*
1) *Complete your registration and drop off your boat on Friday *at
Coney Island (4-9 p.m.) so you are all set on Saturday morning to park
and paddle!

2) *Arrive at **Coney Island** early on Saturday morning* (7:00 - 8:00
a.m.) so you will have plenty of time to get your boat in the water and
be ready to leave on our 8.2 mile float trip (2.2 miles longer than last
year) by *8:45 a.m*.

3) *Bring your water bottle* - we will have water stations at Coney and
at the Finish Line Festival to refill your Paddlefest water bottle
(included with your registration).

4) Bring your kids and grandkids to our *Kids Ex-Stream EXPO* from 10-2
on Friday at Coney. It's free and fun for kids of all ages.

5) Bring your family and friends to our *Ohio River Music & Outdoor
Festival *at Coney later that day from 4-midnight. Four great bands,
lots of outfitters and exhibits, free canoeing on Lake Como, boat demo,
silent auction, wooden boat show, paddling films, great beer, tasty food
and wonderful company!

6) Don't rush back to your car as soon as you finish your paddle. Stay
to watch the *Great Ohio River Swim *and our *Kayak Rolling Contest*,
enjoy the Firelytes Steel Drum Band and relax with a cold refreshment
and tasty food. The shuttles run until 2:30 p.m.

7) *Bring sunscreen, a hat, shoes, waterproof camera, lifejacket
(provided with rentals), cash, your love of adventure, a little patience
and a smile!
*
Looking forward to seeing your Friday and Saturday. Together we will
celebrate the beauty of the Ohio and renew our commitment to being
stewards of our region's most precious natural resource!

With appreciation,

Brewster Rhoads, Paddlefset Chair
Doug Coates, Ohio River Way Administrator
Teresa Lubic, Paddlefest Coordinator,
and our entire Paddlefest Steering Committee
