Where did he admit 'he' was the spammer? In fact he seemed to say he won't
miss the old group because a spammer was making it unpleasant there.

When I read the fellow's post, I came to the same conclusion you did,
that there was a "spammer" active in alt.sailing.asa, and our new poster
did not much appreciate that.

He did not say he wanted to be a spammer here.

Isn't it nice that W'hine tossed out the welcome mat?

Not to be a nit picker, but capitalizing the first letter of a sentence and
putting a period at the end makes a world of difference.
