Star Trek

Noone remembers. I changed my sellphone ringtone to the bosun's whistle
the Enterprise's intercom always made when calling someone. They keep
asking me what sound that is....(sigh)

Trekkies are a terminal breed. For the new, dumbed-down generation from
the government schools, Star Trek is too technical for their fried minds to
comprehend.....even the original. They only understand some black slut
swiveling her hips in panties, exactly what the overlords intended.

Never watched a Star Wars episode or movie in my life.

Well, good for you.

Oh, it's Star TREK - not Star WARS...

~~ snerk ~~

Same thing to me, never watched the stuff. I just can't get into such
far-fetched things.

No imagination. :)

I know what you mean. Just how hard is it to understand the basic
science of sending tachyon particles through the deflector dish thus
solving all situations fraught with danger?

And let's not even get started on sub-space communications - honest to
pete - could it get any simpler?

Kids today - sad man, sad.

I used to have the "special telephone" ringtone from Our Man Flint, the
put-on spy movies starring the incomparable James Coburn. These days, I
mostly have opera tunes.

See how long you can go without using the word "I". Narcissists have a
terrible time leaving that word out of every other sentence.

Did I ever tell you about the time I went surfing in a "perfect storm"?

A local newscaster caught it on film.

Sure. There are kazillions of tunes in opera. Even if you don't listen
to or like opera, you've heard them. At the moment, my "ringtone" is a
tune from La Traviata, sung by Anna Netrebko.

Don't know Anna? One of her albums outsold one from Beyoncé when it came
out in 2004 in Europe. Terrific voice, good-looking, too. Well, both of
them, Anna and Beyoncé!

Here's a list of some popular opera tunes for you:

Lakmé: Flower Duet (Dome épais)

Die Walküre (The Valkyrie): Ride of the Valkyries

La Forza del destino (The Force of Destiny) : Overture

Andre Chénier: La mamma morte

Il Barbiere di Siviglia (The Barber of Seville): Overture

Il Barbiere di Siviglia: Largo al factotum

Lohengrin: Wedding March

La Wally: Ebben? ne andro lontana

Cosi fan tutte: Soave sia il vento

Legend of Tsar Saltan: Flight of the Bumble Bee

La Traviata: Libiamo ne lieti calici (Brindisi)
