Didn't care for the collards my ma made, and never tried kale. You remember that guy Euell(sp?) Gibbons? He wrote a few books about collecting and cooking greens and weeds. I had one called "Stalking the Wild Asparagus." Everything he picked he'd soak in butter when cooking. Supposed to be in the "Health Book" genre, but I laughed when I saw a stick of butter in every recipe for dandelions, grasses, etc. Wasn't too surprised when he died fairly young of congestive heart failure. Now I like butter, but I don't want to eat a weed if it needs a stick of butter to make eatable. --Vic |

As with anything that needs cookin', there's a right way and a wrong way.
