I do not know why you (and others here) decided to make this a ****ing
contest Dick but that is what some folks want this place to be
about.

Have a good evening.

PS: Tom: I will give you an update on the deck material over the
remaining season if you want me to.

------------------------

It's not a ****ing contest.

Sure it is. You and Reggie made sure to make it one. Until then it
was a great discussion.
BTW: Whatever happened to your promise to ignore me?

---------------------------------------------------

I don't ignore recommendations that I don't agree with.

You gave yours. I gave mine. Others can decide for themselves.

Check back on the thread. I didn't initially respond to you. I offered
information to someone else who is considering a deck and had read your
post.

You obviously didn't like that.

Now I am through.

I never said you *iintially* responded to me. You did, however
directly respond to me after promising to ignore me.

NP Dick.

Enjoy your deck and I will enjoy mine.

No need to get your shorts in a knot over this.

It still looks great after 4 years in the Florida sun. It does
require closer spacing on the stringers however. I was ready to go
with wood decking until I saw the WeatherBest at a neighbors.
Ours is installed with stainless steel, square drive screws. They
have a small head which recesses into the deck when driven and become
almost invisible

What kind of research did you do when you picked this brand? Did you
check CR?

I checked with our dock builder to see what they thought. They are
well known around here and would not have installed it if they were
aware of any negatives. They picked up on the requirement for closer
stringer placement but other than that were OK with it. Fortunately
the dock had not yet been framed.

Come to think of it, that maybe what my neighbor installed.

I need to check tomorrow.

That about sums it up.

What you need is a good, thin crust five cheese pizza.

Which is exactly what I'm going to eat at this very moment. :)

Too bad it wasn't made in Chicago. 8)

It sort of was - not location wise but by a genuine Chicago pizzeria
operator who moved East.

One of the best pizzas I've had in a while.

Very impressed.

Lucky you. Still waiting for someone from Chicago to set up shop here in
Central Florida. And....use Chicago ingredients.

More like an accessory for the house, mandatory requirement in my
case. One nice thing about buying a house without a dock is that you
get to build what you want. We're very happy with the way it turned
out.

How do you handle hull maintenance (cleaning) on the GB? Do you perform it
yourself or hire a diver?
I recall having to do it on a monthly basis down there on the Navigator.

I have a diver clean the bottom about once a month. It loads up
pretty quickly this time of year when the water temp is in the upper
80s.
