This is one of the very few of my posts that have gotten through
today.. I can't figure this one out.. Anyway, I have posted some pic
links over at google in the meantime, stitch and tape, and some
hybreds...

Seems I can't post there without being mocked or misrepresented,
furthermore, almost every response I try to post gets blocked out too,
even if I spend a considerable amount of time editing to make sure
there are no attacks or personal insults included in my
responses.. ... Keywords are blocked, then I see them from other

I'm sure some here would be interested in your boat-building
experience.
I would, and Ohara, who built a Tolman, would be another.
I was sort of hoping you would jump into a thread where home-builts
were being knocked, because I think you could add some perspective to
that.
If you chose not to, I won't blame you - or Harry.

I asked him three or four times to talk about his experience building
ocean-capable wood boats. He isn't willing to discuss that.

Because you were changing the subject.. I was addressing the
differences between construction techniques, I have never been to
Bimini, your quetions was and is irrelevant.. I have no time for your
folly, most here are aware of my skills in this field... You were
just trying to twist me out of the conversation, and basically, you
succeded.. But hey, everyone knows what you googled or made up...

I have seen the photos of your small stitch-and-glue dinghies and
rowboats. I asked about your experience with ocean-capable boats.

If I am going to go offshore in a small wooden boat, I think I want one
with a spine and ribs, not one glued together at the edges.

Nice picture, here's one I did...

http://trip-reports.com/coppermine/d...?album=6&pos=0

http://trip-reports.com/coppermine/d...?album=6&pos=1

and here is a smaller sailboat.. a hybred..

http://trip-reports.com/coppermine/d...album=6&pos=19

http://trip-reports.com/coppermine/d...album=6&pos=20

Oh, and a dory that could be used to rescue some idiot in a LTP

http://trip-reports.com/coppermine/d...?album=9&pos=2

Now show me something you have built, or a picture of your Zimmerman
will do..

Now, to get back to the point, you don't know ****.. Stick to Google
and your floating clorox bottle...

Which of those boats are ocean-capable for a 50-mile journey offshore?

Nice stuff!
I'm guessing building bigger ones takes the same skills, but more room
and expense.
Ohara's Tolman looks to be amenable to a lot of mods by somebody who
knows what they are doing.

I'd say any one of them if scaled up. That wasn't justwait's market,
but I have no doubt he could do it.

Thanks, I have built others too, but for a while didn't bother with
pics at the time... but yes, a lot of the techniques scale up. Either
way, it's the methods I was trying to explain.. I think something
must have glitched today, I will try to get back on track..

Perhaps if you rolled back the tone your language a little and stopped
throwing bizarre accusations at those who disagree with you...

Naw...that couldn't be it!

If you think *I* have forced you "off" Gene's server, your paranoia is
way out of control. I have no title, rank or privileges on Gene's usenet
server.

Again, I suggest you tone down your language.

In the last few days, you have made a number of claims about your
knowledge of ocean-capable wood boats. I have asked you several times
to tell us about the ocean-capable wood boats you have built. I've also
asked you about your experience boating on the ocean. There have been no
pertinent responses from you. Instead, you go right to the name-calling.

You know you are the only one of the Seven Dwarfs whose posts I read
deliberately, mainly because you are the only one I know for sure knows
something about boats.

Harry, must one build a wooden ocean going vessel to have knowledge of
them? If so, how many have YOU built?
