Default Tropical Storm Fay...

Looks like it's going to curve West after moving up the Florida
peninsula and stay over Central Georgia for a while.

That might help Lanier out a little.

According to the latest projected path, the eye is expected to pass us
just a bit to the southeast. Better than this mornings path, the 8:00
'dot' was just about right over my house.

The *dot* is over our house now. Being 50 miles north or Orlando is
shouldn't be too bad.

I doubt there will be a "center" of this storm. It is on our local
radar now and it just looks like a lot of rain to me. We are right
down the middle too (Estero)
40 minutes after it went over Key West the Weather Channel guy was
standing out in the sunshine.
This is the first thing to come here in 3 years so they are hyping it
up. I think it is a mistake because the next time we get the real deal
people will blow off the warnings.

I fear as you do in your last line. Too much hype, not enough blow.

We need the storm to come straight up the state and then STOP over N
Georgia.
This is an interesting storm. I was just looking at Havana and Key
West radar - there appears to be a northerly wall building, but there
doens't seem to be any convection south and not a lot of feeder bands.
Looking at the individual cell tracks, there doesn't appear to be any
closure to the wall - low pressure, yeah, but no "eye" if you will.

I think, and being an amateur at this which means it's probably
bullfeathers, that the southerly wind shear at 30-40K feet was
stronger than they anticipated which is ripping the storm apart.
Well, forecast that son of bitch to stop over N. GA.

Screw N. Georgia.

I want it back out in the Atlantic then up the East Coast right up
Fisher's Island Sound so I can get from great pictures from Watch
Hill. :)

Screw you and your silly photography.

Did I tell you I am taking a trip a 9 day trip to Yosemite and Eastern
Sierra in Oct.?

Yes, yes, yes, and you didn't invite me. It sounds like a blast of a trip!

Jealous is me.

I doubt you will get much of this in Hotlanta. They do have it hooking
back into Georgia around Brunswick but if what I am seeing here, there
is not much water in this. It is just drizzling in Estero at 0100EDT

http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/refresh/grap...?5day#contents

It could hook out back into the Gulf - unlikely though.

From a historical perspective, it seems to be following the same track
as a storm in 1911.

As long as it dumps some water in Falls Lake and on my lawn. But not today.
Gotta go enjoy my retirement on the golf course!

Yeah, a few inches of rain in the Lake Lanier affective area means
quite a lot to the lake, BUT, as of this morning, they are saying that
about half of the computer models now have it going out to sea
instead, and we may actually get.....nothing!

This storm reminds me of one of the same in 1972 that went to western
NY and dumped and dumped rain, causing major flooding and damage.
Whole towns were just deluged...
