Yes. Four minutes after your post, Harry posted this:

What's next? The Ballad of the Good Humor Men? Song of the Sanitation
Workers? :)

Seriously, the U.S. service songs are ok, but I think the best service
song of modern times is Panzerlied by Kurt Wiehle (*not* Kurt Weill).
It's a great piece of music, unfortunately written for the Panzerwaffe.
Rousing, patriotic (if you are a Nazi :( ), and made famous by that
pretty decent WW II movie starring Henry Fonda and Robert Shaw, Battle
of the Bulge.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Why did you not say something then?

What's unbelievable? It's a great, rousing piece of music, unfortunately
written for the Nazipigs. But that doesn't diminish its musicality or
power.

The Russian national anthem, music by Alexander Vasilyevich Alexandrov,
is also a great piece of music.

Oh...I see Brownie didn't like the post. Well, he's dumped on many more
of mine. Maybe he should complain to the moderator here.

Perhaps it was your put down of the American military with your praise of
the Nazis.

Oh, now they are 'Nazipigs'. Interesting how that got changed.

You are so ridiculously transparent. Hell, even JimH sees throught you.

La Marseillaise is stirring, especially when munching on American
fries.

Nice piece of music, but from what I have seen and heard, it is not easy
to sing. The Brit's anthem is both decent music and easy to sing. The
Star Spangled banner is not easy to sing, which is surprising, since the
tune was lifted from the Brit drinking song.

I was thinking the exact same thing.

Just goes to further clarify for me, that if there ever was a NG get
together, there's maybe two or three people whom with I feel I could sit
down to enjoy a beverage without wishing to see them disappear.

My count of enjoyable people here is about a half dozen.
