Here is the error message

Your certificate contains the same serial numberas another certificate
issued by the certificate authority. Please get a new certificate
containing a unique serial number.

As far as I know, I didn't have any certificates before and I ain't
got none now.

Have you tried to run Thunderbird with Your Firewall off to see what
happens?

Yes. It did not.

You maybe have a security problem with the ISP who is providing the
certificate. I posted information to your previous thread, on the
security ports.

I asked if you upgrade from a version that did not support secure
connections. Thunderbird 2.0 supports secure email connection and may
need a different certificate from the vendor.

You isp probably supports a simple authentication email connection. I'd
just switch to that unless you're using your email to send sensitive stuff
around.
