Well, If you figure scrap that scrap has gon down, from about $220.00
per ton for un prepared steel, (car bodies) to about $180.00 per ton
now, ....

eh. I don't really know.

But still even for scrap that would be a chunk if it weighed 20 tons

Boat weighed 12 ton. I'dve jumped on it if I had the coin. Excellent
Lakes boat, and fast for its size as well.....

There was a guy locally that went to the scrap yard and bought a
pretty nice aluminum 20 ft. jon boat . One exception, it had about a 6
inch gouge int he side of it. He bought it trailer and all for $150.00
Then took it to the local metal dobber and had the cut repaired,
($60.00) and it looks practically new from the outside. took it home
and mounted a 30 hp evinrude he had in his garage. He used it all of
last year, then he pulled the engine off and resold the boat and
trailer for $1000.00 a couple weeks ago.

trash to treasure.

I know you're not trying to flip one to make a buck, but I was jsut
telling what bargains can be out there, even in the scrap. Actually,
this is starting to be the bad time for selling boats. Spring time is
the right time.

You might take some good pics of it and put it up on craigslist or
ebay. Stuff usually moves pretty good there.

Good luck, man.
