....Barack Obama.

Praises Obama as a thinker, trashes McCain's campaign of innuendo and
insults, claims Palin "not ready" for presidency.

Powell, a Republican, a war hero, a well-respected American, says we
need a generational change such as Obama will bring.

Powell said he has been watching Obama and McCain closely since the
conventions, and decided Obama had the ideas, the intellectual capacity
to lead the country.

I'm sure the Republicans will now start trashing Powell.

Obama has no new ideas. All he is doing is recycling failed ideas form
Marx and Lenin.

Powell says he was against the war from day one, that was a lie.
He says McCain got negative about Obama being an Arab, that was a lie.
Fact is McCain corrected folks who suggested that at his own rallies,
in the face of cat calls for doing it.
The fact is Obama's folks showed up at rallies with tee-shirts
refering to Sarah in gross and disturbing terms and Obama said
nothing.
Seems Powell is being swayed by.... well, I will leave that to you
all...

Not quite. What he said was that he was initially against going to war, as
was GWB, but when working through the UN didn't work out and Bush made the
decision to pull the trigger, he supported that decision.

He also acknowledged that the intitial objectives of the war were
accomplished quickly and successfully.
He added that the error of the war was in not understanding the chain of
events after Saddam and his government fell from power, and also suggested
that if the "surge" had been implemented earlier, the war may have ended
earlier.

Lastly, he stated that the situation in Iraq appears to be stabilizing and
can see a not to distant recall of American troops.

His endorsement of Obama has absolutely nothing to do with the Iraq war.

I forgot to add: With regard to the war in Iraq, Powell's observations are
identical to McCain's.

Interesting, huh?

More interesting was what Powell said about McCain's indecisiveness, his
choice of Palin, and his outrageously negative campaign.

I doubt BAR has ever read anything written by either Marx or Lenin.
Well, maybe Groucho Marx and John Lennon.
