Default Nasa VHF - any experience?

I know. I have seen the manual, too. (BTW, it's also available in
Finnish at
http://www.merimiehet.com/download/N...Manual_fin.pdf . The
"normal UK" version does indeed not have the L channels, but what

they
sell at Merimiehet.com is a model that has been tailored for the
Finnish needs & regulations. So that model does not have the UK M
channels.

The printed manual supplied with the unit has been changed and

there is now
only one chance to enter your MMSI number and not the three chances

I had
been led to believe. If you make an error in the number entry it

will lock
you out and you have to contact your dealer for resetting.

This is bad. It's all too easy to make an error.

Is there anyone who was able to download the Software and the EEProm
contents from the Device ?

I have downloaded the Software and EEprom from my SX35 ATIS/DSC
(German Version)

As far as I could see, the Device is not locked against reprogramming.
So it should be possible to erase a wrong MMSI.

I have not actually tested it - there was no need to do so.

But - i would be very much interested to get an Image from the
Software from an UK and/or Finnish Version.
Maybee we could find out, what the differece between this versions is.
And maybee we would be able to enable the Finnish L channels and the
UK M
channels.

I guess it is just a software setting. Not sure - but i would try.

There is a sequence to erase a wrong entry that can be done over the
telephone by Nasa with the radio's owner by his/her radio. The changes in
the number of attempts allowed was not of Nasa's choosing. Should you need
help with this email me, making the usual address adjustments.

We also stock both the UK "M" and the "L" version.
